Provisional Figures (ASEM) of West Sulawesi Province's rice production in 2010 amounted to 362,900 tons of Dry Grain (GKG), up by 52,194 tons (16.80 percent) compared to 2009's rice production, which was 310,706 tons. The increase in rice production in 2010 was caused by an increase in harvested area of 10,950 ha or around 16.85 percent, but in terms of productivity there was a decrease of 0.02 quintal / hectare (-0.04 percent).
Provisional Figures (ASEM) of West Sulawesi Province corn production in 2010 was 58,020 tons of dry shelled, down by 300 tons (-0.51 percent) compared to 2009 production. Decline in corn production was triggered by a decrease in productivity of 6.27 quintal / hectare (- 12.57 percent), from 49.87 quintal / hectare in 2009 to 43.60 quintal / hectare in 2010. Even in terms of harvested area, it increased by 1,614 hectares (13.80 percent), from 11,694 hectares in the year 2009 became 13,308 hectares in 2010.
ASEM soybean production in West Sulawesi Province in 2010 amounted to 3,195 tons of dry beans, an increase of 42 tons (1.33 percent) compared to 2009 production of 3,153 tons of dry seeds. The increase in production occurred due to an increase in harvested area of 7 hectares (0.34 percent), namely in 2009 the harvested area was 2,076 ha and in 2010 the harvested area was 2,083, and also an increase in productivity by 0,15 quintal / hectare (0,99 percent ), which in 2009 was 15.19 quintal / hectare to 15.34 quintal / hectare in 2010
