Abstract

RICE, CORN, AND SOYBEAN PRODUCTION (2008 FIXED FAMILY AND RAMALAN FIGURES III 2009) A. RICE (Lowland Rice + Field Rice)  The fixed rate (ROOF) of West Sulawesi Province's 2008 rice production amounted to 343,221 tons of Milled Dry Grain (GKG), increased by 30,545 tons (9.77 percent) compared to rice production in 2007, which amounted to 312,676 tons. The increase in rice production in 2008 was supported by an increase in productivity of 0.43 quintal / hectare (0.92 percent) and also an increase in harvested area of ​​5,841 hectares (8.76 percent).  Furthermore, the Forecast III (ARAM III) of West Sulawesi Province's rice production in 2009 was estimated at 318,233 tons of MPD, a decrease of around 24,988 tons (7.28 percent) compared to 2008 production. The decline in production in 2009 was mainly due to a decrease in harvested area of ​​4,546 ha (6.27 percent), from 72,471 hectares in 2008 to 67,925 hectares in 2009 (ARAM III 2009). Besides that productivity is also expected to decrease from 47.36 quintals / hectare in 2008 to 46.85 quintals / hectare in 2009, or decrease by 0.51 quintals / hectare (1.08 percent). The decline in harvested area is the result of damage to the Sekka-sekka dam primary channel in Polewali Mandar. B. CORN  Fixed Numbers (ROO) corn production in West Sulawesi Province in 2008 was 40,252 tons of dry shelled, an increase of 13,619 tons (51.13 percent) compared to 2007 production. Increased corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of ​​1,751 hectares ( 23.79 percent) and also increased productivity by 7.99 quintals / hectare (22.09 percent), from 36.19 quintals / hectare in 2007 to 44.18 quintals / hectare in 2008.  Forecast Number III ( ARAM III) corn production in West Sulawesi Province in 2009 was 51,657 tons dry shelled or increased by 11,405 tons (28.33 percent) compared to 2008 production. The increase in corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of ​​1,638 hectares (17.98 percent) and also increased productivity by 3.88 quintals / hectare (8.77 percent). C.
