Abstract

 Farmers Exchange Rates (NTP) in Sulawesi Barat in April 2009 amounted to 105.14, up 0.46 percent compared to March 2009 NTP which only reached 104.65. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded 96.66 for the Food Crop Subsector (FTT-P); 89.26 for the Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H); 127.71 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R); 105.19 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) and 105.14 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN).  Results of monitoring of rural consumer prices show rural inflation in Sulawesi Barat in April 2009 of 0.05 percent, which is generally due to an increase in price indexes in two of the seven significant expenditure groups, namely: processed foods 0.79 percent; and clothing 0.70 percent. Five other groups experienced deflation in rural areas, namely: the foodstuff group 0.05 percent; housing 0.66 percent; health 0.69 percent; recreation education, and sports 0.08 percent; and transportation and communication 0.35 percent.  Compared to other provinces, Sulawesi Barat is one of the 14 provinces experiencing inflation in rural areas, the highest in South Sulawesi is 0.91 percent and the lowest in Riau Islands is 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, 18 other provinces experienced deflation, the highest in Lampung 1.37 percent and the lowest in West Kalimantan 0.01 percent. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) obtained from the comparison of the price index received by farmers against the price index paid by farmers, is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers. NTP also shows the exchange power (term of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. The higher the FTT, the relatively stronger the level of farmers' ability / purchasing power. The results of monitoring the prices of producers of various commodity goods and services in rural areas showed that the Sulawesi BaratNTP in April 2009 was 105.14, an increase of 0.46 percent compared to the March 2009 NTP of 104.65. This is due to changes in the price index received by farmers rose 0.52 percent, while the index paid by farmers rose only 0.06 percent. Means, in general, the increase in prices of agricultural commodities from the previous month is faster than the increase in prices of goods for consumption and production. As a result, the comparison between the price index received and the price index paid by farmers tends to be even greater. Official Gazette of Sulawesi Barat Province No. 18/06/2016 / Th.
