; In September 2008, Kota Mamuju experienced inflation of 1.74 percent. Of the 66 cities studied, all experienced inflation, the highest in Tarakan of 2.80 percent with 121.55 CPI and the lowest in Manado 0.03 percent with 115.01 CPI. While Mamuju ranks 7th, with CPI 119.60. ; The inflation rate in 2008 was 11.99 percent, while the inflation rate "year on year" (September 2008 to September 2007) was 17.69 percent. ; Inflation occurring in September was mainly due to an increase in prices of goods and services indicated by an increase in the index in the five categories of goods and services as follows: the foodstuffs group by 4.45 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 2.76 percent; clothing group of 0.08 percent; education, recreation, and sports group of 0.38 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.78 percent. Meanwhile the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group experienced a decrease of 0.31 percent; while the health group did not experience price changes. ; Commodities that contributed significantly to inflation include: skipjack (0.40%); snacks / snacks (0.26%); katamba (0.25%); inter-city transportation (0.14%); oily pastries (0.11%); cob, live chickens and salted fish (0.08% each); filter clove cigarettes and overpass (0.07% each); cayenne pepper (0.06%); boards and garlic (0.04% each); cob, broil and milkfish (0.03% each); and young jackfruit, spinach, cabbage / red cabbage, red, vegetable tomatoes, young long bean leaves, baronang, squid, bloated / bloated, rental houses, cassava leaves and oranges (0.02% each).
