; In June 2008, the Sulawesi Barat  NTP of each subsector was recorded at 90.26 for the Food Crop Subsector (NTP P), 89.88 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP H), 134.49 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP R), 102.12 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP T) and 98.29 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN). While the West Sulawesi Province NTP of 102.67 decreased by 0.88 percent when compared to the NTP in May 2008 which reached 103.58. ; In June 2008, rural area inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province was 3.36 percent due to an increase in the price index of several expenditure groups, as follows: foodstuffs (3.75%); prepared food, drinks and cigarettes (0.92%); housing (4.93%); clothing (0.68%); health (1.60%); education, recreation and sports (1.06%); and transportation and communication (8.31%). ; Of the 32 provinces included in the NTP calculation, all experienced inflation in rural areas. The province with the highest inflation was Southeast Sulawesi at 5.12 percent while the lowest was Bangka Belitung Islands at 1.18 percent. West Sulawesi Province ranks tenth among the provinces that experience inflation in rural areas.
