Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF LONG ROAD PROVINCE OF SULAWESI BARAT; The length of national roads increased from 541.06 kilometers in 2006 to 546.49 kilometers in 2007 or an increase of 5.43 kilometers (1.00 percent). Meanwhile, the length of provincial roads increased from 667.60 kilometers in 2006 to 671.00 kilometers in 2007 or an increase of 3.40 kilometers (0.51 percent). Furthermore, the length of district roads experienced a significant increase of 4,891.90 kilometers in 2006 to 6,136.38 kilometers in 2007, an increase of 1,244.48 kilometers (25.44 percent). ; In general, the condition of state roads is quite good, because the proportion of roads with good conditions has approached 70 percent, each of which amounted to 58.78 percent in 2006 and 69.26 percent in 2007, this means there is an increase in quality on several road sections. Meanwhile, provincial and district roads are still below 50 percent, namely 28.12 percent and 16.77 percent in 2006 and 45.86 percent and 22.62 percent in 2007; The proportion of the length of state roads according to road classes I and II (merge), both in 2006 and 2007, was respectively 65 percent. This shows that most national roads can be traversed by motorized vehicles with a size of weight and load above 5 tons. Meanwhile, provincial roads for class I and II in 2006 were still below 40 percent and in 2007 it had reached 60 percent, while district roads in 2006 and 2007 were still below 10 percent, this shows that provincial roads could be traversed by vehicles motorized vehicles with a load of more than 5 tons, around 60 percent of the total road owned, while for district roads that can be traversed by the same type of motorized vehicle, less than 10 percent of the total road owned.
