Mamuju, June 9, 2026 – BPS-Statistics Indonesia of Sulawesi Barat Province welcomed a coordination and consultation visit from the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/BKKBN of Sulawesi Barat Province at the Manakarra Hall of BPS-Statistics Indonesia of Sulawesi Barat Province on Monday (June 9). The meeting aimed to strengthen synergy in the utilization of statistical data to support family development, population, and family planning (Bangga Kencana) programs.
During the meeting, Head of Kemendukbangga/BKKBN Sulawesi Barat Province, Wahida Paheng, emphasized the importance of statistical data in implementing various population-related programs. Reliable data serve as a key foundation for policy formulation and development interventions, including the implementation of the Grand Design of Population Development and the Population Roadmap.
"Data are essential for us in implementing the Bangga Kencana Program. Our target is families throughout their life cycle—from adolescents, couples of reproductive age, pregnant women, and toddlers to the productive-age population and older persons," she stated.
In addition to family development, Kemendukbangga/BKKBN Sulawesi Barat highlighted the importance of data in supporting family economic empowerment programs. According to Wahida, the 2026 Economic Census presents an opportunity to obtain a more comprehensive picture of household economic conditions.
"We want to understand the economic condition of households. This is closely related to family economic empowerment efforts and overall family development," she added.
Responding to the remarks, Head of BPS-Statistics Indonesia of Sulawesi Barat Province, Suri Handayani, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening communication, coordination, and collaboration with Kemendukbangga/BKKBN Sulawesi Barat. She noted that the partnership between the two institutions has long been well established, both in data utilization and field operations.
"We highly appreciate this visit and remain committed to maintaining strong communication, coordination, and collaboration in carrying out development-related tasks. BPS and BKKBN have long worked together as close partners, supporting each other in various activities," she said.
She further emphasized that the existing cooperation would continue to be strengthened in the future.
"Moving forward, we will continue to enhance collaboration between BPS and BKKBN to support the provision of high-quality data for regional development," she added.
Through this meeting, both institutions agreed to further strengthen coordination and consultation in the use of statistical data to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of family development and population programs in Sulawesi Barat.
