The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province recorded that the West Sulawesi Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in July 2024 was 146.99, a decrease of 1.06 percent compared to the previous month. This decrease was due to a faster decline in the Farmer Paid Price Index (It) compared to the decline in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib).
"This decrease in the NTP indicates an adjustment in the exchange rate of agricultural products with goods and services consumed by farmers," explained the Head of the BPS of West Sulawesi Province, Tina Wahyufitri.
Despite the overall decline, several sub-sectors still showed relatively high NTP, such as the Smallholder Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-R) with a value of 192.62.
The BPS of West Sulawesi Province will continue to monitor the development of the NTP and the factors that influence it to provide comprehensive information to farmers and related stakeholders.
